18v+ cordless blowers are plenty powerful enough to blow out the garage (bonus: no gas fumes!), get the fall leaves off the deck or any other task. Try starting any pull string gas engine in the winter when it is 20 degrees out. People will often say winterizing, blah, blah - but no, it's not that.
I'd advice against gas blowers in general unless you have a specific need for a gas one. If you live somewhere with seasons and cold winters I'd advise heavily against gas blowers. Obviously be careful around any overhead power lines if you get an aluminum ladder tho. If you just have a single story house, get a combo ladder instead especially if it is your only ladder. The harbor freight predator gas is a honda clone and actually a pretty good one. You want the horizontal engine not a vertical one. Again, you are looking for a honda engine or a clone. The electrics are alright for washing your car and such but if you have to clean a fence or your siding and whatnot their spray angle/psi is so small that it takes forever.

People sell perfectly good mowers that they just don't know how to clean out the air filter or fuel line and such all the time. I'd save some money and just find a used mower tho, there are always a ton for sale that just need a little TLC to run good as new for cheap. Honda engine is a big plus, replacement parts are cheap and ubiquitous. The hitachi is a great blower at about $130. The electric ones have come a long way but the gas are still just better. Get a gas blower unless you are just using it to blow a few leaves around.
